Hi everyone,

I am currently building the re-released Tamiya Mclaren M23, I also got the decal set from MSM the red color seem to be a floursent kind of red I have the Finisher MP4 red set wondering if the red color match the decal? I have seen Snneake build which was amazing and inspirational Thank you for all the help

The color is indeed fluorescent. I'm not sure what color the Finisher's is, but it should be close. I do know that Tamiya's fluorescent red in the spray can is an almost exact match for the real car.

Personally I think either Tamiya TS-36, the Finishers MP4 set that you have already, or Zero MP Red are all correct for the M23. Some people will say it's just a very bright red same as Tamiya TS-49, my feeling is to go with the fluorescent shades not simply a bright red. I suppose it's personal choice.

Thank you Stevenoble and ScaleCentral for the help I think I will go with the Tamiya Flouro color over Finisher Foundation White I will do some test on scrap first to make sure the color is as close as possible. THank you once again

For Texaco / M****ro cars (up to and including 1975) TS49 'Bright Red' is correct. For these you'll need a transkit for the high airbox....

If you are building the Tamiya kit out of the box it's a 1976 car with the low airbox, and as others have said they are definitely flouro... This was the first use of the flouro red, which carried on for the duration of the Ma****ro sponsorship....

David
