97 t bird trans problem

I have a prolem with my trans i think. I go to put the car in drive 1 and low gear and it feels like neutral. But reverse works fine. then the problem is iff to take the car to aamco orr to the dealer that effed me over in the first place. what is the problem and what do i do?

Have you checked the fluid level and does it smell burnt? Is it a really dark color? If you don't like the dealer then go to a transmission shop but check the fluid first.
