...and my F1-2000 got Best of Automotive award and (from what the judges told me) nearly got overall Best of Show! I couldn't be more proud! It was out of 650 entries at BlizzardCon in Columbus, OH yesterday. Great show, great entries. Lots of cool stuff. If you have the chance, get there. Great event. (REALLY bad lighting, but that's for the judges to sort out...)
I'll try and get some pics up sometime soon, as some club members took some good shots of it at this past club meeting.

I just built my first light box yesterday, so I'll try and get my camera to where I'll take a pic or two this afternoon, depending on the kids...(9mos and 2.5 yrs)
I was hoping someone who was at the show and took pics would have one to post. I'll try and get one up ASAP.
EDIT: Hopefully these pics aren't too bad. They're not the best, but maybe they'll give an idea of what it's like...

Congratulations on your win Daniel. Now shut up about it. (I'm just bustin' your chops.)
The IPMS contests are a lot of fun and though they have a reputation for being a bit WWII biased I see that's changing. The auto, figure and even sci-fi/fantasy categories are growing faster than aircraft and armor. As the old guard heads to the retirement home we should see the judging become better balanced. Best of Show is decided by a majority vote of the head category judges. Naturally if 4 out of 5 of them know nothing about cars they will most likely pick something else.
What we need right now are more high level auto entries and especially experienced auto modelers as volunteer judges. (If anyone reading this is marking time at a show, walk up and volunteer yourself to the head judge. They always need car judges.) It's still difficult to win Best of Show with an auto entry on merit alone but it can be done. It also happens to provide a great motivational incentive so make it your goal on the next one.

You are spot on about the judging. I had no less than 4 judges come up to me after judging (before awards) and tell me they voted for me for BoS. I don't know how many there were, but the impression they gave me was that it was going to be close. Having a bunch of friends that are all about armor (that's who I came to the show with), they had told me the same thing from their show here locally--they just didn't know anything about cars. Unfortunately, that probably cost me (although the pics of the winner was just amazing...). No harm done. It doesn't mean *that* much to me. :)
Next time, I will offer my judging capabilities (never done it, but I do have a lot of experience building cars) for the other car categories I am not in. Maybe they'll let me help...
