Right a few have seen the start of my new Nemisis skyline, it has been evolving all the time, i was going to do a roof chop on it but after creating the side skirts i feel it would make it to disproportionate. anyway i will hopefully have all the body mods done within next week unless sumfin comes up.

i have seen cars with intercoolers of that size, well they were running about 1100hp, but the thing i wanted to do with this car is to make it look unlike every other R34 out there, in reality its only 6mm taller than the tamia intercooler!! so thats only another 14cm more in real life, they either make em wider or taller, mine was based on the taller variety.

i just borrowed the chassis of of my nismo skyline and test fitted it to the new body, hmmmm i may have to get hold of some bigger rims, and the ones there are 18" dtm wheels, oh dear, does anyone have any hoppin hydros 20" wheels lying round here in the uk, do they have any uk didtributers? also if anyone does have a set, can they give me an overall diameter including the tyre please, in millimeters if possible, thank you:devil:

looks like you're trying to replicate the front end of the Veilside top-speed R34, the one with 1100hp. i agree with Blowncivic that the car should be one color and one color alone with no graphics or flames or any stuff like that. i liked your 350Z, but i felt the only thing that brought it down was the graphics. i don't like the idea of massive 20" wheels on a go-fast car either, as that seems to defeat the purpose...but it IS just a model. :p

I see no need for larger wheels on this car. The wheels you have on the test chassis fit the purposeful aesthetic and fill the wheelwells nicely. You've done too much work and made the car too attractive to rice it up at this stage.

Overall i think it looks pretty good, i like it! The one thing i would suggest is perhaps smooth over the lower part of the front bumper.

hi chris,my latest photos i will try and post in a bit show i have already filled in that part, suppose great minds think alike, lol. bit more work has gone into the front bumper, mainly with my dremel, thats why i ldet the filling till last. gotta keep sanding the whole thing till its as smooth as glass with 2000 grit wet n dry. bumper and kit was inspired by both the veilside kit and the top secret stuff but mainly a cartoon pic of a skyline that i saw in max power once, it had a huge gap whrere the intercooler is, i liked the proportions a lot and wondered if it could be done, thats why its so deep. i am starting to agree with everyone about both the paint and the wheels as i am loving the model more, i am considering a jet black gloss!! which is why i am sanding so much so you guys cant point out the flaws in the pait, but i bet ya will find some, lol.
May also consider tamiyas TS53 deep metalic blue as its dark, reflective and sexy, i am also in possesion of some window tint film that i got from the guy who just tinted my lexus, anyone had any experence with using tint film before on a model:devil:

Looking good Chris - re your question on hoppin hydro's 20's (although that may be redundant now) - do you mean these

- they're 3cm diameter but I don't know of anywhere in the UK that has them - I got these from the states but can't remeber where - sorry - they will most probably end up under an Estima (when I get round to it!)

the name "nemesis" seems so wholely appropriate. it looks so mean right now with it's gaping mouth and "angry eyebrows" headlights. I say either completely black, or silver with red/black chinese letters streaking down the sides as if their edges were blades. or something to that effect would be 'mondo cool'.

hi those rims look great, i realy love them, want to get some crome rims on my real life lexus is200, probably only be able to get 19"s tho, shame. 3cm eh, hmm gonna have to get the calipers out tonight, i have just ordered a few rims from HBJ, dunno how long they are goona take tho, with the earth quake etc, plus im paying by paypal, gonna cry now, ordered some sweet crome 19" rims tho, do they come in 4's or pairs, i hope 4's as i only ordered 1 set of each.
i am almost fully decided on jet black now, think it will look good, once polished up etc, i would realy love some door sponsor decals to break it up tho, either in silver or white, does anyone have any i cud buy a pair of?

well even tho according to the poll my modeling is"rubbish" (how many people are just pressing it for a laugh!!!) i still think it will be cool, less lairy than a jgtc skyline, and more for the street. Also has anyone seen the R1 nissan skyline with the full carbon front, from japan, that has huge wide arches and is quite scary, i like it, inspiring, altho im crap with sticking on decals especialy carbon ones, they always tear!!
here is a bit more sanding and the smoothed front end with the extra holes, am settling on paintig it ts53 as its very sexy, any objections?

I Like everything except that front bumper!!!
I hope you change your mind which is a 1% chance of putting back the original. Everything looks good except IMO the front bumper.
I can give you the front bumper,, I havew a spare, unpainted untouched. so you can put it back. :(
It looks good, I just wish you put the original back on, which I know you will not.
I only offered it because I think it would look so much better with the original, but I wouldn't offer the bumper to anyone else. :D

i have several spare bumpers, but thank you for the offer, i am considering adding something to it, but im not sure if there are many people from the uk car modding scene here, but over sized intercoolers are very desireable, i didnt want a hugely wide one as it would have detracted from the depth of the front, was thinking of extending the hood down further, taking up some of the gap, i am trying to find the pic of the skyline i saw with the centre section cut out as i know a few people think that there is no practical benifits to this mod, it is not unrealistic, just different, and individual, like us all:bloated:
this is a test for me on what can be done on my own, without a transkit, only filler, plasticard and my imagination, i am only asking has my modeling SKILLS improved, not do you like it, as i believe that once the paint is on it will look like mr tamiya himself made the kit. i am going to enjoy my model if you guys liek it or not.

It all looks good, except the front bumper, IMO, the hole is way too big. It would look better if the stock grill was there.
I think the original picture looks better than the photochop. But it is your model and aslong as you like it, thats all that counts. :)

Don't redo this front for a bunch of guys... If it's not for you, don't touch it. I speak for myself here, but I think you have a real interresting thing going on. A nice but effective agressive look that seem to scream: "GET OUT OF MY WAY OR BE SUCK INTO THIS INFERNAL INTRECOOLER! " Black metalic is the way to go... with side sponsor if you like it but if it were mine, it'll be all black. Maybe even flat black... like a R34 I've seen in the Tamiya conntest 2002... giving it an after nuclear war look... totaly awesome, fresh and new and something you don't see everyday in modeling. Refreshing ! Go wild my friend... Push the boundaries... Free your mind.

well now the 350z is gonna be finished soon i wanna re start the nemisis skyline, i need some opinions on what colour i should paint it, i am wanting to go for a deep dark colour, a deep deep blue with jap style graphics would be cool, but i want ideas etc so i can gain the final few days of inspiration to get the beast finnished so i can start my enzo :icesangel

i havent posted any recent photos but i am extending the bonnet down to reach the top of the standard intercooler, which is gonna make it look less hollow, the origional idea was a performance one allowing a larger amount of air to flow through an enlarged intercooler therefore boosting power

well then i must be a butcher, ahahahahah, i realy dont give a fuck no more, just want to get the kist finished, and anyway i have two more unbuilt r34s sitting at home anyway.
gonna keep the standard intercooler on the car, gonna go with a dark paint, gunmetal probably if i can find a nice one,
do you think it will rip the tyres if i wrap 1mm thick styrene card round the rims to make them a bit deeper and thicker.
not too sure if the elasticity of the tyre compound? i just have to fill the arches a bit more since i extended them out jgtc style

if you want a mental car that hasn't been done before, this is your chance. personally, I love what you've done with it thus far, and can't wait to see it as a finished project. for a colour, I'd also have to go with Black, and the flat Black idea has me thinking about making some kind of 'road warrior' sometime in the future  don't let people knock you for trying something new, you're doing it right.
