Hi,
after our last years group build with the caymans http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=1010880&highlight=cayman we decided for this years Model Show in Frankfurt on 08. + 09.10.2011 a similar project:
At the Nürburgring 24 h youngtimer races take place. So Scaleproduction provides the decals for the starting-numbers, their frame an the main sponsor. Every youngtimer is a possible model.
I hope we´ll see some interesting cars in October.
I decided to build a Mini Cooper, based on a 1:24 Tamiya kit.
I changed the cage to modern style

Interesting build, I like the way you have turned it into a proper little track machine.
One tiny observation, and its just me being a bit of a rivet counter here, the copper pipe going to the servo from the master cylinder is actually coming from the clutch, and not the brake resevoir, just thought you might like to change it round.
Cool car though, :sunglasse

Very sharp livery, looks excellent. The driver's seat sure makes the rollcage look small and compact on this little car. excellent work tru-out.

WTF??? :D
You've finished already?!?!?! I haven't even started thinking about mine yet!
Nice idea, Micha
The idea of a Playboy Mini makes me smile
I think you were right to clean up the BMF because, in the photos at least, it doesn't look as great as your usual standard.

Is it a model of an actual car or a phantom racer? I'm not sure I understand the rules of the group build you're having.

Hi,
I guess, the other builders, as far as they are in AF, open threads on their own, I´m not sure, if a commen thread makes sense here.
Concerning Frankfurt: You are welcome

Hi,
it´s half/half.
We (nearly) stick to the rules concerning starting numbers of the cars (depends on the engine/power), to the modern safety equipment, but the design is free.
See some of the original cars here http://adac.24h-rennen.de/Bilder.4001.0.html?&tx_cegallery_pi1[album]=291&tx_cegallery_pi1[apage]=1&cHash=846c87960d
