Idles until gas applied. Then dies

:banghead: It will fire right up and idle, runs good on flat ground but it will bog way down if you try to go up hill as if I'm towing a cement truck.
Please help! I'm stumped!!

It is a 1983 v6 carb. manual trans. 2wd
