I had just finished flushing the heater core out, and was putting the hoses back on. Guess what happened, the plastic connection for the input to the heater core broke off.:crying: :banghead: Is that plastic connection piece replaceable, with out having to replace the entire heater core.

just hook up the rubber hose to the heater core plastic tube with ca clamp.

get a hose that will work if too short now.

this is why when forum members ask about flushing the heatercore I say never screw with the hoses at the heater core but remove the engine connected hoses only.. with these hoses still connected to the heater core, the engine ends can then be used to blow out and drain into bucket the debris/coolant instead of the coolant running on every thing .

Are you talking about the connection on the firewall? If so, you can get the part at the dealer, Mine broke too.

when your working on any plastic auto parts it is best to work in a well heated area. cold plastic is very fragile.

Since I do not have a garage that is not possible. :banghead:The weather here in Chicago has broken, it was 45 degrees here yesterday and it is around 40 or so today. Also the early morning temperature was above 40. So that is not bad.

I also have the pliers that pinch off the heater hose without damage:smile:, so I only lost the antifreeze that was in the heater core and a little bit in the heater core hoses.

Now that I have all the needed parts ans supplies to finish the job, including new heater core hose. I have one minor question now, how do I get the old heater core inlet/outlet hose connector off of the heater core inlet. I am trying not to brake the heater core. I only broke off the heater core`inlet connector. Thank in advance for your replies.
