GTP Intake

Hello all, a friend and I were going to install a K and N Gen 2 intake kit on a 99 Grand Prix GTP. I'm sure it won't be that difficult, but I always like to see if anyone here has any tips, suggestions, or if any special tools are needed. Thank you! It is very much appreciated. :bigthumb:

Really look at real world gains in HP and if a K&N is really required based on the mods you have before you install. Also consider the cost of a new MAF sensor if yours gets K&N oil filter oil built up on it.

Big issue is you have to remove the old airbox and the PCM will be dislocated and exposed. I went with the Thrasher brand CAI in my GTP years ago since it has a PCM tray.

There is also a way to modify a blazer/S10 PCM Tray to use in a gtp. Something like cutting one of 4 hold down posts off the S10 PCM tray makes it fit directly into the GP. There was a tutorial I found somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.
