ok so my 95 1 liter 5 speed... just got it trying to find time to work on it.
so my problem . i can shift from 1st to 2nd just fine going in to 3rd you have to get the rpms up a little. when coming out of 3rd it goes into like limbo. its nutrule but i do not have the movment in the shifter can not shift up or down nore move it like it should. you have to come to a complet stop then you can get it in to first.
when its just sitting going throught the gears it feels like it wont go in to 3rd or 5th but goes into gears 1-2-4 just fine.
and when driveing i can not go from 2nd to 4th or 5th
help, advice anything. thought about draining gear oil and try sencromesh. but if you read my other post you know i have a tranny all ready out a bearing/seals/sencro kit. i just got the car and really want to drive it.
i traded my 88 dadge raider for this 95 geo metro a 78 toyota pick up and 350 cash. the metro came with another tranny and rebuild. funny thing the guy through the rod in the raider/montero 3 days later

Try to double clutch it. Clutch to neutral, let out the clutch, bump the rpms at least 500 to 1000 (may need to experiment a little to find what, if anything, will work) clutch and try to shift to the next gear. If this works then the syncros are shot.

It sounds like you're clutch is not disengaging completely. I would guess either you're clutch needs adjusting, or you have a broken spring or bent lever on you're pressure plate. If the trans is engaging right near the bottom of the pedal (next to the floor) then maybe you need to adjust it. If otherwise then you need a new clutch job. There's probably nothing wrong with the tranny.

good call, I agree with this as a possibility as well.

With the engine running, how does it sound when you put it in reverse? Smooth or crunch? Crunch is the clutch.

I'm not even going to read your post... This is not the place to discuss trannies... lol! Good luck with your Metro. I agree with trying the adjustment first.

the clutch is all the way at the top. and yes it is gone......
i just cracked the case on the other one and put the new bearings and sencros in now to put it back together and in the car.. back to the car. its weird it goes into 1 and 2 just fine third you have to double cluth it and when you come out of 3rd it get stuck... have to come to a complet stop to get back in to first or sencond.. any ways thanks for the advice will post more if need be or to let you know how it turns out.
