Hey everyone, this is my introduction to AF. I'm a newbie to this forum, but not a newbie to modeling, couple weeks ago I picked up an Aoshima Mercedes Benz SL63 AMG kit, and it looks great! I haven't had much time to work on it, plus im waiting for the PE's to arrive. Anyway, this car is going to painted white, with burgundy red interior.

The dashboard will be painted flat black in couple of hours so I will add more pics then.
Keep following, and I would love to hear your comments

No, it's not the black version, and I'm going to leave the wheels just the way they came in the box

I built this one OOB for Scale Auto review earlier this year, it's a nice kit. Looking forward to seeing more of this one.
A couple things to consider: the seatbacks are too upright. You might consider separating them from the lower cushion, and raking them back a little.
The satin plated wheels are nice in the kit, if you look at photos of Benz wheels, inside the spokes away from the outer edges, they are painted a medium gray metallic. I airbrushed gunmetal gray Tamiya acrylic in a thin coat, then wiped the paint off the outer edges with a Q-tip soaked in Windex. It did a fantastic job, and didn't harm the plating at all, and they look much more realistic that way.
I saw the Black Series kit today...I want.

Thanks for those tips! I'm hoping after market parts get here this weekend, since I ordered them couple weeks ago from japan, but not to make ya'll bored with this thread here is what I've done with the disc brakes and wheels, I will add more details once I get the PEs.
Edit: Sorry for the poor quality of pics this time

A quick little update on the Benz. The body is ready for painting, so is the front bumper and the lower dash board as well. The decals for the dashboard came really poor for some reason, so I was forced to hand paint it, not the best result, but doesn't look too bad. Also, the seats received couple coats of Krylon Burgundy Red and are drying out so I will post them on here on the next update. Enough talking, more showing haha take a look:

Another quick update, the PE parts were delivered to me today, so I went ahead and got the disc brakes on. Tomorrow I will paint the calipers and add the PE emblems, so ya'll can take a look at that.
Here's how the PE Parts looked in the bag:

The camera really pointed out the scratches on the inside of the brake, but that will not be visible once the wheels are put on.

Are you taking pics in black and white? I AM color blind, but I was looking at these thinking, wow, there's NO color in these pictures. haha
Details look great though. Might I suggest a quick scrub with some VERY fine grit sand paper on the disks to give them the look of having been used.

Well the pictures are normal color, except that I just quickly snap a picture once I'm done with the part, and I have the Brightness on highest and Contrast on lowest so it can show the detail as much as the cheap-o camera can haha! And I will consider slightly scrubing the brake, thanks!

Hey guys, more on the Mercedes. I painted the body white, but haven't added the clear coat yet, even though its already shiny :iceslolan Also, I painted the seats and the lower part of the dashboard Krylon Burgundy Red which gives it a Satin finish, so it actually looks like real leather! Thanks for checking in!

That red will work really well with the white body, excellent choice there.

Hey, I painted most of the interior parts and test fitted them together. Back seats still need to painted, details added, seat belts and mats. I test fitted what I have now. Also, I finished the front bumper with PE grills added and fog lights. Test fitted with the body, not a perfect fit, super glue will probably solve it. Take a look:
