96 Maxima - rough idle only when first started and cold

96 111K on the odometer. When we first start it when it is cold, it will have a rough idle. It will last for about 30 seconds to a minute and then it just goes away like that.
I read on this forum a guy with a 2000 Maxima had similar problems. It was recommended to him that he get a new Idle Air Control Valve. Does that sound like it would correct our problem?
Thank you

Can be. However, I'd test/try the cheaper things first. Most likely (if its the IACV) the reason is old worn out grease .... it can be corrected by cleaning and lube the valve stepper motor 'screw': CRC gun spray 'grease' is known to work.
When cold, TPS throttle pos sensor is used by ECU. After warmup (2-3min) the control system starts to use exhaust feedback (closed loop) and TPS is NOT used in engine control. All this means that the TPS also can be behind your COLD ONLY -problem.
Broken temp sensor and/or its loose connector causes erratic idle.
