2001 regal lots of repairs

i have a 2001 regal with 131,000 miles on it. in the past 3 years i have spent 3500.00 on misc car repairs. i keep thinking i will get caught up on this thing but it never happens. lately its been in the shop every other weekend. ive heard the engine/transmissions on these are reliable and i would like to keep it but now im wondering if its posibly a lemon. has anyone had better luck with these cars or should i unload this thing. now they say it needs need intake gaskets, uhggg. any opinions?

You have to take into account it is a 10 year old car. I have a '99 LS with over 180K miles and plan on keeping it until it falls apart. Still a good daily driver. Past repairs were nominal considering the age and mileage.

What issues are you having?

trying to consider that just wondering if i should give up on it. hoping i will get caught up on these repairs eventually. where i can drive it awhile with no repairs
