Found this clip in my car

I found a black clip on the floor of my car while i was vacuuming the carpets. I saved it but i have no idea where it goes and i have been dumb founded ever since. does anyone know where it might go?

Floor mat would be my guess

i bought the car used and it didnt have floor mats in the car
