I would like put a 3.2 SHO into a 1990 ford probe GL. I would like to know if anyone can tell me what to expect. maybe help me identify future obstacles and give advice on what to or how to mod components in order to overcome and complete my goal.

First of all , you'll have to severely modify the engine compartment for the 3.2 SHO engine to even fit into the space ! You'll have to utilize the entire drivetrain from the Taurus as your present drivetrain will not fit the 3.2 engine . The engine ( and transmission ) wiring harness from the SHO will be needed to have the engine and transmission properly operate . The original Probe wiring harness will have to be intergrated with the engine harness . I think the new engine and drivetrain will prove to be too wide for the Probe body and custom drive axles will be needed unless you want the wheels to extend beyond the fenders ? And the list goes on ....! It can be done if you have the finances , experience , and needed tools to accomplish the major task you're talking about ! You could have a professional do the job if your wallet is big enough ? Good luck and keep us updated !

Since in 1990 the 3.0L V6 was available in the Probe, I'm not sure that there'd be a lot of difficulty fitting the 3.2L in the bay, but there still would be a lot of fabrication required with the drivetrain and powertrain management. You certainly wouldn't want to tackle such a project with the idea you'll get your money back out of it. At least not if you do the swap safely and correctly.
