Completed Ferrari 360 Modena

Well this is my first car after visiting AF and I am not really satisfied with the results. I made too many mistakes and as a result, spent a lot more time and money then I should have. Wasted 3 cans of spraypaint. This is the first time I used primer, sandpaper, compound, wax, airbrush and clear glue. Problems with spraying a nice coat of paint on the body and kept polishing to the primer. The clear glue was irritating cos it keeps spilling all over the car. There are many other mistakes such as the windows (esp. the sides), the rear hatch that does not fit properly, the front right light cover, on of the front panel line (I accidentally scratched the body while using a needle to take out the compound), the prancing horse logo (I spilt glue) and the rear signal light on the hatch (the decal broke). But I love the engine detail. Maybe it's my skills that are lacking but for some reason it was not as good as it should have been. Sorry for the long post, here are the pics.

(It looks more like blood red than Italian red cos I srayed too many layers of paint.) Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Even with all that small problems you ended with a nice Ferrari Junhao.
You will see as you gain more experience with those new modelling processes you will get better results model after model. :)

I couldn't say it better myself.:)

When I built this kit, the window glass (side and hatch) do not fit properly and gave me fits getting them to fit. And I'm an experienced builder...:rolleyes:

I was sick of the model after getting the body painted and the glass to fit. So I too was pleasantly surprised how perfectly the interior, engine, and chassis came together. Everything below the body fit perfectly and details out nicely.

Looks really great. That rear-end shot is bad-ass.

Despite your problems, your finished model car still looks great. Keep it up! Nevertheless, there is a strong sense of accomplishment isn't it?

As for me, I am still on the new beetle project and I accidentally destroyed the chassis yesterday (See thread) (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t104621.html). I'll have to order replacement part.:o

So compared to your "problems", ;) ..I am definitely much worse off. :D

Well, no matter what you think, the pictures look darn good. I've got a few kits on my shelf that didn't turn out as good as I had hoped. However, I learned something new on each one and now I can look back and see how much my skills have progressed. They still have a long way to go, but at least they're getting better!!

the first car is always the most expensive one you picked a really expensive one in this case but looks good me.
