Have questions. Im not very familar with alot of automotive high performance. Ive been saving up for quite awhile now and i just pretty much need an idea of what to buy for my 3000gt sl 3.0 liter. I want to turn my Sl front wheel drive into a nasty twin turbo. So i need an idea of the best turbos for my car, exhaust, headers ecu, the whole nine. Any one got any suggestions.:banghead:

Most on here, as I, will recommend that you do not attempt this. 600HP on a SL is impractical. You will not be able to get any traction. There are owners that went with the stock TT set up and they have no traction. Forget about having 600HP. If you have saved enough for this, you should have enough to get a decent VR4 and mod it, if you sell you SL. It may be difficult to let go of your car but in the end you will be much better off getting the VR4. Converting a FWD to an AWD is an expensive option.

I suggest you do a lot of research on this. 91STT has basically hit the nail on the head. If you want 600hp you have the wrong model. You are much further ahead purchasing a VR4. It gives you the AWD and the stronger engine from the factory.
For 600 hp you can go stick with TD04 and max out some 19Ts, or check out the newer DR750's from Dynamic Racing. Matt knows his turbos. He currently owns the world record for the fastest 3s in the world. The DR750's aren't cheap, but they are bolt on, and only require the supporting fuel mods, etc.
The other option is upgrade to TD05 and go with 16G's.
I don't know how much you have saved, but be prepared to spend at least $5000 just on turbos and supporting mods to hit your 600 hp goal. Once you start getting that high in hp you are getting closer to the threshold of the engine. People have had stock engines hold over that power, but its all about a good tune.
As for your want of torque, if you want torque get a diesel. These cars never were and never will be torque monsters. They are going to always have more horsepower than torque. Most of the 600 whp VR4's make around 520 ft lb tq.

For torque you may want to look into Ray Pampena's 3.5 stroker but be warned TD04 turbos will hinder power production. You need to go big with this stroker.

Yeah listen to these guys. They have been around the block a time or 2 on this platform. Once you get around the 380+ whp mark on FWD it gets a bit rediculous...i know from experience

td04 billet turbos, stock block, 600awhp capable.
We're building one right now. I'll try to remember to post back here with the results when we're done. Engine and turbos should be in the car hopefully next week, then on the dyno within a few days afterwards.
BTW, if you want 600hp, sell your SL and buy a TT/VR4. Don't bother messing with your current car if you have 600hp goals... it'd be a waste of your money.

Because it's a big pile of poo. LOL
That thing is so far gone, it'll be another decade before he actually gets it back on the road.
