Its not the typical whining or humming noise you get from bad bearings, or the clicking noise from bad CV joints, its a "CH CH CH CH CH CH" metalic type of noise every time the wheel rotates, its not the tires. It gets faster as the car goes faster, it doesn't get louder though. I can really only hear it when I drive next to a wall or something for the sound to bounce off of. Any ideas?

I had this happen on my former '98 Malibu. Believe it or not, it was the wheel center caps self-distructing (the pins on the inside that hold the caps to the wheel were breaking off). Dealer gave me 4 new caps as a courtesy. This happened when the car was 6 years old, just before I traded it.
(Formerly from WPB ('85-'09). Thank God I'm the h**l out of there.)

Good call, I just went to check it out. After figuring out how to remove the hubcaps (remove the center cap first... I almost broke the damn thing) I took it for a drive and couldn't hear the noise. I realized that I had been hearing the noise when I drive over the reflectors in the street also, but that was gone as well, I thought that was a suspension issue. Thanks for the tip!

Oh and as far as being from WPB, I've only been living here for a year and I'm already looking for a job out of state. This place it turning into a ghetto, real fast. I lived in Montclair, NJ, two towns over from Newark and East Orange, and I haven't seen as much police activity and crime in the years I lived there that I have in the 13 months here. My neighbor was mugged at gun point right in front of his house as he was walking in one night, crazyness.

Glad my hunch helped. I really thought it might be a long shot.
BTW, I was born and raised in Montclair, NJ, but that's another forum....kinda bizarre.
