I like a lot the background in Voyager/sebastian pictures.

Seems an old cottage, but think is suitable for a lot of model cars of any era.

I am going to build one right now, does anybody have a suggestion or any tip to make something similar?

what dimension will be ok for such background? in almost all pictures this diorama looks quite bigger than ordinary one for display and expos.

any suggestion is wellcome.I just wouldnt start a real garage with all fornitures, but just wanna create a cool background for pictures.

thank u

It looks like at least part of the dio is the scale productions scene.
It would be a good place to start and get something similar by adding your own pieces, search G scale railway websites for stuff like this. G scale is approx 1/24.
http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=de&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.scaleproduction.de%2F
I have been tempted to get one myself as it is ideal to put finished models in there to present in this forum, just like voyager does!

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Steve.

yes Steve, I mean exactly that. Dont wanna make the usual giant and big unuseful garage dio, just a sort of cool background for pictures.
Online I also found some printable files as this one, even if it is in 1/32 scale. Also this can be a good idea.

Hello Paolo,

no need for searching railway stuff - that exact part you're looking for is of course available from ScaleProduction.

Check here (http://scaleproduction.de/SP_DE_Produkte_Dioramen.html) (click on image to see the slideshow) or go directly to the ScaleProduction online shop (http://www.scaleproduction.de/index.php/cat/c119_Diorama.html/XTCsid/d8a1d332c526bb389bdf7d704965dea4) and place your order.

I used those pieces (http://www.scaleproduction.de/product_info.php/language/en/info/p1538_Garagen-Diorama.html) on a wooden base. The tarmac is self-adhesive stuff railway modelers use.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Oh, BTW: don't worry about painting the resin pieces. They are cast in the usual high-end ScaleProduction quality.

Total measurements of my little dio: 660 x 400 x 140 mm

Cheers
Sebastian

PS: find pictures of the build-up of that dio in my Photobucket (http://s936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/SebastianMotsch/modeling%20diorama/Garages/)

thank u very much Seb,
Mike's parts are very nice.I'd prefer build it by myside, cause can change some little parts (shall still have some metal garage doors made in resin years ago). The picture diorama gives a great idea as background, isnt it?

The top trasparent plastic cover is placed to shade the lights during picture time?

ciao Lucho,
all ok here thank u :p

all the pictures give me some ispiration to make my photo corner. As told before, I would like to make something as Sebastian use to take pictures, while all the cars will be placed inside my showcase.
So looking pictures I want to make something a little bit more...italian!Not a true diorama (but surely at the end it will become a real one) , so I look carefully at some targa florio pictures and also at ferrari houses inside fiorano testing track...http://www.sportscardigest.com/wp-content/uploads/Ferrari-250-GT-Breadvan-Enzo-House.jpg

to make it more "easy" I have to keep more civilized color. The red courtains usually in italy are green, and also the walls can be pale yellow.Typical italian is the roof done in cotto, so that color and element will be present...Time to start cut some wood. The diorama size will be for 2 cars, not only to display one (the main reason why I prefer to build this by myself)

http://multiply.com/mu/alsoldatino/image/1:soldatino/photos/163/600x600/2/SDC15331.JPG?et=wkzWR1o4Z3Zl9ISdQldgiw&nmid=411834596

http://multiply.com/mu/alsoldatino/image/1:soldatino/photos/163/600x600/4/SDC15333.JPG?et=gogXUFpPLTTg%2CMR8mDuqYg&nmid=411834596
a little roof part is done with cocktail tools :smokin:
http://multiply.com/mu/alsoldatino/image/1:soldatino/photos/163/600x600/7/SDC15336.JPG?et=98%2CIf5q2nsVfYG6qCKBDhw&nmid=411834596
all fixed with white glue and then primered..

http://multiply.com/mu/alsoldatino/image/1:soldatino/photos/163/600x600/8/SDC15337.JPG?et=w6kWw0XvSxMAXJnpdFywtQ&nmid=411834596

then i planned to make a sort of showcase, using a big picture of a giant german supercar dealer (auto salon singen)

http://multiply.com/mu/alsoldatino/image/1:soldatino/photos/163/600x600/5/SDC15334.JPG?et=2K9X7pIV6jIq7Ncl4b2luw&nmid=411834596

but also this showcase will force me in have this corner mostly for ferrai again and/or only for modern vehicles, while I would like to use such also for 917, gt40 and the kilo of porsche kits of every age I will build..so probably will not use Singen's showcase :p

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1220/623304550_3a6622f828.jpg

a nice image, with cool colors (too much also). The nice here are the contrast of red and white, but it is basically ONLY ferrari headquarter. It gives me the next ispiration to do something...as a sort of ferrari dealer maybe?

first base of colors applied, and wanted to try some example cars in such "world".
Looks enough italian? :smokin:

added garage gates and house's door, also details on windows.Still want to add some little grass and sand, some white stripes on tarmac, and maybe some flowers near windows....but then an old fellow in sunglasses comed and wanted to park in this location his red cars..I dunno who in hell he is...just he was very unkindly to all, talking Maranello's slang and continue repeat his reds are the best cars ever build by humans, pushing me away....... DOH...:screwy::screwy:
