Hey guys, thanks in advance for any advice or sarcasm.
92 Suburban 2WD had some issues changing gears the other day. Acted like it had popped into neutral but then caught and changed gears.
Today, while trying to back out the driveway, reverse didn't work and truck rolled back as if it was in neutral. Once out of the driveway, tried to put it into drive and still acted as if it was in neutral. Tried the rest of the gears and the only one that worked (oddly enough) was neutral.
This is my step sons truck and he needs it for work. Someone told him it could just be the filter and flush, and although I'm hoping for that, does anyone have any thoughts as if that's even really a possibility? I've heard once you've lost reverse it's pretty much done....that true? Or could it be something else such as linkage or something like that?
Anything you got would be greatly appreciated.
