Porsche 911S, 1969.
Basis: Fujimi, scale 1:24, Enthusiast series.
Plan: lots of details. I'm going to build this one as close to original as possible, using lots of reference pictures.
GEARBOX:
You can enlarge pictures by clicking on them.
Fujimi's out of box gearbox has a poor detail level. I improved it by adding some more bolts and other pieces (made out of plastic and thin metal, partly also Tamiya epoxy putty). Left: before; Middle: after detailing; Right: reference pictures of Porsche 911 gearbox after restoration.

Primer and color (Tamiya acril silver, using airbrush). Some more detailing, weathering,... I made this one a "bit" dirty.

Simulation of grease: I used white glue for basis (when it dries becomes transparent) with addition of suitable pastel colors.

STARTER:
Before and after detailing, reference pictures. I printed some more decals.

Nice!!! That starter is silly(in a good way). Will you be able to see these parts when the model is finished??

Very nice project that, for sure, I'm going to follow. At this moment I've to finish the Gemballa Mirage GT (WIP asap). I've started to convert a Carrera body into a 1964 911. Shaved the fenders and so on. Your project looks to be a stunner, wich it already is. Your detailing is super. Can't wait to see more. Good luck!

Thanks to all!
I'll probably display this model as "classic car during restoration", therefore many parts will not be mounted on the car and details should be better seen. I have a plan to build a diorama of mechanic workshop (once in a future).

Very nice work and glad to see you're back on the job; I had seen this thread before and wondered what happened. Did Eric Westra's build inspire you to continue again?
Agree with the previous poster that many of the pics are just too small to see any detail. Please increase the size if you can...
I'm wondering why you built the clutch? Do you intend to display the motor out of the car?
And yes, 'Heat Exchangers' would be a good English translation for Warmtauschers. Sometimes they are just called Heater Boxes.
Looking forward to more!

I plan to make sort of diorama with this model. "Classic car restoration workshop" or something like that. Model will stay put apart (in the middle of restoration, engine and transmission out,...), therefore many details will be seen on finished model as well.

HALFSHAFT, AXLE
Fujimi's parts were not good enough. I scratchbuilded new axles. "Rubber parts" are made using teflon tape.

BELT
For better looking belt you need a sharp knife, isolation tape and 10 minutes of time.
To get accurate thickness, use 2-3 layers of tape, one above another. Then just cut it to proper width. It's really easy task to do, but the result is wonderful.

CARBURETORS
Lots of improvements were dome here. In total I added to original parst approx. 80 parts!!
Trace of rust can be found here and there to achieve more realism.

AIR FILTER
Hole on the lower side of it was filled vith plastic and putty. Layer or Tamiya semigloss black. Placing of decal followed and above it few coats od semigloss clear.

Actually yes, it inspired me to finally publish progress. I also started with Corel-Draw design of decals I intend to print on special decal paper. Those, printed on normal paper looks way too thick... I'll replace them with thinner ones.
