I don't know if that's what you are going for, but I like the idea of a car being built as a "in progress" custom.

Cesar, the Magnum looks great. The suspension work is awesome. You're doing some nice work with your lathe. Did you use anything to seal the plastic to prevent ghosting after you removed the side trim? If not, you might want to consider some sort of sealer to avoid paint problems later. For what it's worth, I've used Zinsser BIN and Future (a acrylic floor treatment) to deal with ghosting.

Bossolani
02-15-2011, 05:51 PM
Thanks my friend! Nice observation about ghosting... Yes, I did used Tamiya extra thin cement after sanded... I had some problems with similar mods on other models some years ago... And I'd used automotive plastic sealer before gray primer (automotive also). It's super strong... you can see on my first post. I have no problems with ghosthing since I made this things.

Thanks for interesting bro!

Thanks guys for very nice posts!!! Not easy to me follow instructions sheet... I try to do simple and fast, believe me... But i think with myself "I can do this part looks a little better" and when I see, modifications began.... it's vicious and endless... Check out my Mustang WIP to confirm... Started on early 2008... more than 1000 hours of work... 98% modified, or kitbashed, or scratchbuilded and so far to finish it. I won't give up... but I want to build simple cars also between a long project... like this Magnum with some mods,or my recently finished flat orange S2000 or matt black Skyline .

Back to Magnum, Re-primered today... Still needs some work...

Thanks man! Good question... I'm building a '67 Mustang since 2008. Like as said before... was spent a lot of hours and frame wasn't done yet... And I have another project started in 2008 also, consists in build a '35 Chevy Master from a Testors Vantastic inspired in legendary Grand Master builded by Foose, I can't to replicate it, but I can do something different inspired on his job... The body wasn't done yet, but I'm so glad because I gave to it a new shape and no hurry to finish, so it is stopped. It is fragile and I doing in my time... Exhaust wasn't done... after cleared I'll do some weathering job.

Thanks for post! I'm sorry but in all models I'm building i found something to change, or move, or mods, or do better than came from factory.

Stay tuned for next and sorry for my poor english!

I also find it interesting that some builds that appeal to me do not receive more posts. I've posted responses to your work on this build on another forum. I wonder if others have looked at your work on another site and decided to post responses there instead of here. Also, I wonder if you would get more posts if you moved this build to the Hot Rod/Muscle Car section of the website? Anyway, keep posting. I believe that you enjoy sharing your work. Based on the comments, a lot of us enjoy following your progress.

I love the amount of attention you put to the smallest of details.

About the use of 0.5mm wire.
I've lately been trying out some jewellery wire that's an incredibly thin 34 guage (or 0.016mm) and it's pretty good at holding a shape compared to the solder like stuff you usually get.
