Hi guys
My 2008 canyon 3.7 liter is giving the code po411 which is the secondary air injection pump. Ive checked the fuses and all are good. Book says it only comes on from 5 to 60 seconds to warm catalytic converter for emmissions when the temperture gets so cold. Ive tryed to feel of it and listen to it to see if it works but can't tell. Truck is out of warranty so trying not to put it in shop. Now I have some questions. One, all fuses are ok but want to know if the fuses 02SNSR and ERLS go to it or is it some other fuse. Second, is there a temperature sensor somewhere that may be causing it not to work and were would it be. Book does't mention(that I've found) anything about how it knows when the temperature is cold. Three is there a relay that works it and were is it located in the fuse box. Nothing I saw said ther was one for it. Fourth is there another way to check it to see if its working, like maybe disconecting the plug and jumping it straight to the battery and does it run off staight 12 volt or is the voltage it gets less.:banghead:

Secondary air injection insufficient flow- Sounds like the pump needs cleaning.

Do they have to be cleaned very often. Never heard anyone suggest that. Are they easy to clean.

Not sure, I would bench test the pump, also air pump control valve.
It's possible that both might be covered by Federal emission laws.
You should be covered under Federal law warrenty 8-year/80k miles.

Took hoses loose on pump can blow through it real easy. Don't think its locked up. Still wondering if I can bench test it with 12 volts. Can't find any information on this pump. Does it heat up and blow warm air or does it just heat up and let warm air draw through it, or am I just wrong all the way round. Called dealership and was told it was not under warranty that it was only covered for 3 years 36,000 miles. Has 2 wires to it red and orange which one is possitive red one?? Its a pain to try to take out want to check on vehicle if at all possible.

Did you ever fix the problem? I have the same year truck and code 412 which is also secondary air problem. I changed the selenoid on engine and 2 relays beside radiator on right hand side, it(The Lite) comes on after I run truck and then restart it about 5 times..
