Hi guys:
My 02 grand prix has developed a musty smell coming from the heater. I assume that I have developed some mold issues in there. Do any of you recommend a product to spray into the fresh air intake to take care of this? I know this car does not come with a cabin filter. I think I read once that one out of a certain Buick will work in the Prix. Anyone know which one?
Thanks,
Regan

I don't know about any products but in addition to the cabin filter you can try the following:
If you use the A/C in normal mode instead of MAX for some time the smell will fade away, I used to have the same problem when I used the MAX option all the time. After a few weeks working with normal mode there was no more smell when using MAX.
Best regards,
Oscar.

There are anti-microbial and deodourizer sprays that you can get from a jobber. Spray it onto the evaporator and it will inhibit mold growth that occurs from the condensation that forms on the evaporator and causes the musty smell.
Don't know if an 2002 will have it but newer gm products have a afterblower feature that can be set-up with a tech2 scan tool. It runs the blower fan for a period of time after the car is shut down to evaporate the condensation.
