97 Explorer SOHC water pump

The water pump in my daughter's 97 Explorer is leaking coolant. The service manual says to replace it, the radiator must be removed. Has anyone replaced the water pump w/o removing the radiator? Is there enough room?

i just had the water pump relplaced on my 99 and don't think they had to take out the radiator. all the bolts don't show any sing that they were losened. I took it in at 11am and they had it ready for me at 4pm
