KILL SWITCH die time?

I want to hook up a kill switch to my fuel pump. How long would it take to starve off the fuel and die? 1995 Ford 5.0 fuel injected. I am deciding between a kill switch to either the ignition or the fuel pump. Any info would be welcome!

Do it to the fuel pump. Killing the ignition only and trying to start the engine with the kill switch off will flood the engine. If you kill the ignition while running, you also leave unburned fuel in the cylinders.

If ignition is killed without fuel you will see a massive HC spike and "dieseling".

As mentioned, I would kill the fuel. Your car will probably run for about 10-20 seconds then stall out.

10-20 seconds? I've never gotten more than about 1 second when I pull the fuse for my fuel pump with the engine running to de-pressurize the lines. The pressure drops off very quick, even at idle.

Giving lee way, I've seen a Taurus run for 10 seconds once the inertia switch was tripped.
