Lexus vs. Infinity....... i donno there both i would go G35 over IS300, M45 over GS430 and LS430 over Q45

Infiniti. Lexus is strictly Luxery except for the IS300, while Infiniti has a perfect mix of sport and luxury. G35 is one of my favorite cars right now.

It's Infiniti ;)

I would call it a draw- the IS200 is easily one of the best cars on sale, the ES300 sucks just as much as the I30/I35, the Q45 is better than the LS430 (JUST) and the upcoming FX45 is better than the RX330 OR LX470 and the M45 and GS430- I will call that a tie.

How could you not mention the G35... unless you did and I am too tired to see it. I think you could call it that a tie-breaker than. I pick the
Infiniti G35 over any Lexus... Plus Toyota owns Lexus, and I'm not a big fan of Toyota.

The G35 is very overated- if it wasn't called Skyline in Japan- then nobody would give a shit.

Sure it has a very nice VQ35- and a nice chassis- but so does the IS200 have all them as well (Not a VQ35 obviously- but a good engine)

honestly i just love the g35 coupe...i don't give a shit that is the skyline in japan.....i think its a more classy looking 350Z and an awesome value for the money.

and about the original question i really don't care that much about either brand....guess i'm to young....but i'll chose the infinity because they have the g35 coupe:licker:

lexus is just tooo damn conservative for me. toyota needs to start making cars with massive balls again. see nissan (infiniti) is fillin in that niche pretty nicely with their high powered sporty cars. and trucks.

Ditto. I liked the G35 before I even knew it was the Skyline. Nothing can really change me mind, Infiniti is the better car IMO.

What's wrong with the I35? Speed, luxury. Nice looking. Reliable. I can't think of any negatives.

the i35 fits in with the TL and ES300 in that they're entirely too similar to the maxima, the accord, and camry (in that order). you can get just about the same features for thousands less. but the difference is, the I35 looks entirely too similar to the maxima inside and out. honda and toyota made a decent effort in distinguishing the luxury car from the rest. looks to me like nissan got lazy with the I35. same with the qx4. i find it hard to call the I35 and qx4 luxury cars simply coz you have to take a second look to make sure they're not a maxmia or pathfinder. where's the luxury appeal in that? just my opinions i guess.

There are a few differences: No 6-speed. More wood, more options, nicer colors, more luxury oriented suspension. The I35 is basically what would be above the GLE model Maxima. I like the interior of the I better, but I have owned a 6-speed SE and the I is incomparable in performance.

The IS300 has a 6-speed. I was referring to the Infiniti I-35.

I'm almost 100% sure it is 6-speed. I could double check.

The I35 is completely indestinquishable from our Maxima QX- except for the VQ35 option. It is too heavy, too boring and isn't as accomplished dynamically as it's European FWD competition (Peugeot 6O7, Renault Vel Statis and Alfa Romeo 166) I can see little logic in choosing one over a standard Maxima. At least the Maxima knows it's a Maxima :bloated:

THe VQ35 option is what makes it awesome! I've seen the Euro spec's and I don't like them. They are nice over here in the U.S.

My point is that there is no justification for buying it over a Maxima- because in the Maxima you can get a 6 speed, VQ35 and a great looking car for less than the I35- There is however a lot of justification to buy a G35 over a Maxima- even though the two cars aren't related

Agreed, but they aren't very comparable. The only thing they have in common is the VQ35, 6MT, and 4 doors. The similarities end there.

As for buying one, if you don't care about a manual tranny and want luxury and a nice ride with a fast V-6 engine, the I35 is your ticket.
