There not slack. They just down whined back up fast and I have to give it a helping hand.

Ya unclick and the stupid thing just sits there or it'll pretend to go but you end up slamming the door on the buckle.
The first time was after a couple years and I returned to the dealer and the service writer said that it wasn't covered under warranty and I'd have to pay. Not a defect wear and tear. Stupid idjits. So much for a 10 year warranty on seat belts.
Here what my problem was. The upper turnaround sleeve by the side of your neck gets gummed up with something.
Like wax off the belt. If you lift up the belt and look under where the belt slides and drag your fingernail across where the belt slides you'll get a bit of gum. Looking close, you can see it a grayish scum.
It's a pain to get at and especially the back side, once or more after I get ticked, I remove the bolt (tight, maybe thread locker, can't remember) and play with it that way, unless you have a third arm or a buddy in the back seat. The plastic cover over the bolt unhooks from the bottom and flips up on a plastic hinge and keeps getting in the way. I scrape what I can with a blunt edge that will not gouged or scratch the plastic, say like a credit card.
Then i fold the belt back and use a piece of thin foil or thin plastic(like vapour barrier etc) that will slip between the belt and the slide to protect the belt from getting wet when you can clean it with something like alcohol and then armour all leaves it nice and slippery when dried off.
When done it just slip sliding away.

I'll give that a look pfofit but I don't recall seeing any gunk built up in those places when I looked at the belts and hangers. But ya never know.
