Their are the Tein's,B&G,JIC. You can check out the thread called B&G install, and see what they look like and how low they go. Tein's, you can check their website. For the B&G, youll have to go 2 like page 2 of the suspension thread, a little old.

Oh yeah. Can't forget them, but then again, no shocks to go with them. I am 100% against mixing and matching. Not trying to waste money up in here.

I don't mean to be rude, but you are totally misleading people with these statements. Mixing and matching? Coilovers are designed for using different springs. Mixing spring and damper companies is a non-issue as well. The only downside to the GCs is that they are not permanently attached to the damper body. Then again, for those of us racing in the SCCA's IT category, they are a Godsend.

If I could buy proper threaded body damper coilovers of good quality, I'd rather have them than the threaded sleeves of the GCs, but there are some excellent dampers out there (such as Koni and Bilstien and others) that I would rather use with the GCs than so-so coilovers.

a coilover set up uses custom springs with custom spring rates that allows you to switch between different settings. the coilover springs are also designed differently than conventional springs (a lot smaller than conventional, lowering springs.) it doesnt hurt to "mix and match" different coilover springs as long as you know what settings you wanna get and balance the front and the rear.
i guess generally speaking, if one particular brand offers springs and shocks, it's probably best to get that set such as in the TEIN case for the P11. BTW, you are confusing the TEINs with the term "coilover" the TEINs is a suspension system that's composed of lowering springs and adjustable shocks, NOT a coilover system.
From my knowledge, only Ohlin and JIC makes full coilovers complete with pillowball mount. the B&Gs do not come with the pillowball mount i believe.

I think you are misunderstanding me. See, you are straight b/c you have a P10. They have a strut set-up for those. I on the other hand have a P11. Now with that said, someone had got some springs and bought some 95 maxima rears and said it rose the back of their car up. I have nothing bad to say about GC's. Its the fact that right now, at this present time, nobody makes struts for P11's. That is why I'm staying away with mixing and matching "struts"! :smoka:

That's good. Because the P11 doesn't use struts. :D

But, I understand now what you were saying about using Maximum dampers (shocks). OTOH, Donster has Konis on his P11 and they are sweet. I've seen his car and I guarantee you it isn't raised up anywhere. It's a sweet car.

Smart ass! Shocks/struts. You know what I mean. Jackass! j/k. He has the Koni fronts and 95 maxima rears? With what springs.

Yes I do. That's why I said so. So, perhaps one insult was enough.

I think he has Ground Controls.

Sorry! I guess one insult was enough. What kind of suspension do you have. I bet the ground controls are pretty bouncy aren't they?.:silly2:

Not when combined with the correct spring choice and the correct dampers. Mine is pretty sweet.

BTW, you always have to select the spring rates for coilovers. That is the beauty of coilovers. They use a standard size spring allowing for extremely easy change of rates.

Just wondering...

Geo, did you drive in Donster's P11? was the ride comparable to your's? Do you know what spring rates he was using?

I used to have the GC/Koni combo back when I was a newbie to the suspension thing, and have no idea what rates I had, but my car got all crazy when hitting a series of small bumps.

I have the tein's now, but I'm really not happy with them anymore, I think the struts are blown!! :(

I neither drove, nor rode in Don's car. I do however trust his judgement on suspension.

I suspect you needed to do some tuning with your suspension you had before. A series of small bumps can, howver, lead to some jiggliness and harshness no matter the springs/dampers when you are using high rate coilovers.

So whats the best combo for lowering the car AND having a good right, not a nouncy ride. I wanna drop my car already but im trying to find the right thing to use so i dont have a bouncy ride.. :D
