I have a 1993 Lincoln Town Car. My number 17 fuse keeps blowing. I looked in the owners manual and it says the fuse is used for the following parts:
Anti-theft, ATC, courtesy lamps, keyless entry, power mirrors, and memory seats.
As of right now whenever I hold my "Unlock" button on any of the doors it turns on my headlights, so I figured it must me a wire touching somewhere. I just dont know where to even start, and taking it to a shop is not an option to me. Any advice helps. Thanks.

A fuse is to protect a circuit from damage.
There's a short in one of your circuits, causing the blown fuse.
1) Start by disconnected the electrical connector to the electric memory seats, and power mirrors.
2) Try another fuse 17.
Does it blow?

Yeah I smelled burning right when it happend, so I know it's a wire problem. I just need to findout where to look. Since my lock button turns my headlights on I know it's wherever those two wires would be near eachother. Any advice on where I can look for that?
Where would I find the electrical connector for the memory seats?

I was trying to figure out, what would be the most wear + tear in florida.
I would rule out the mirrors, because there's no ice.
1) Try to isolate and disconnect the drivers side electric seat motor, it's under the seat.
2) Do a visual inspection on the electrical buss line from the drivers side door to the body of car.

You got four circuits connected to fuse #17, you are trying to isolate one of them out of the loop.
1) If you disconnect the electric drivers seat from the loop, and fuse 17 doesn't blow, Yes
Focus on the drivers door, because of wear + tear!
2) Do you see any cut's, wear, or tear on the electrical buss line from the opening & closing of drivers door?
3) If not, take the drivers door cover off, and disconnect the control module on the inner door.

I disconnected the seat + Headlights and it still blew the fuse. Do you know where the alarm is at so I can try that?

Hell put a new fuse in and turn the key on. If your fuse doesn't blow, its the outlet. how do you remove that trim panel? ive looked at it and cant figure out how it comes off.

Disconnect the cigar lighter and the auxiliary output under the right side of the dashboard, then see if the problem persists.
