98 Eldorado Question

Greetings all. My mother bought a 97 Cad and I liked it so much I found a 98 Eldorado and picked it up. However, I've been reading about all the problems folks have had with them, Im wondering if I might have made a mistake. Im concerned about the head gasket issues. Has anyone used Liquid Ice to reduce the operating temps? Assuming that this product does work, can anyone tell me if that will help reduce the potential head gasket issue? If this car, with 68k miles, does develop a head gasket problem, would it be a good idea to try Dura Seal? They claiim that the product was developed to address this issue on the Northstar engine. Has anyone tried it??
Thanks in advance.

The key seems to be proper cooling system maintenance. If you don't know when the last time the cooling system was flushed and fresh coolant added, have it done. Also, make sure that the proper GM coolant tablets are added as well.

Thanks Caddy. Do you know anything about Liquid Ice? It's supposed to lower the operating temp by up to 30 degrees, and the reviews I saw seem to confirm that. It's made by Dura Seal, and they also make sealant that is supposed to be designed specifically for the Cad engine. Any thoughts? I would surmise that anything that keeps the temp down can't be bad.
Thanks
Ron

I use Watter Wetter in my cars and the bike. The bike is the only one that saw a drop in temp from using it. I guess it won't hurt to add to your car, but I wouldn't expect a huge drop in temp.
