2006 GP GXP temp control light question

I recently bought a 2006 GP GXP. I absolutely love the car and I drive it every chance I get. I noticed the PRNDM lights did come on at night and didn't know if that was how it was supposed be or not, So I searched these forums and found the answer. I just replaced the PRNDM light and I have another question that I can't find the answer to.
On the temp control unit for the ac and heater. My temp. up button does not light up and it is hard to hit while driving at night. Is this how it is made or is it a blown fuse or light bulbs? What I think is weird is that only the temp up buttons don't light up, making me think that's how it was made. Any input would be appreciated. Here are a couple visual aids.

Any fuse that would control the voltage to the buld behind your up arrow would also control the voltage to your down arrow's bulb. So I'd be willing to bet your issue lies with a couple burnt out bulbs or a circuit issue in the climate control head unit.

Strange.. The same thing happened to my 2005 GT the lights went out for the up temp and heated seats. Maybe they never had lights I never noticed until my girlfriend said something and I don’t ever recall them ever being illuminated

Are you referring to the console at the shifter PRNDM? Yes it lights up and varies with the IP dimmer. Also, you get shifter/gear status to include TapShift status on the Heads Up Display (HUD).
The climate control the up/down buttons have illumination. Common issue is the climate control head unit. But I have no problems with mine.
And welcome to AF and congrats on your GXP purchase.

I had the same problem so i bought a new temp head unit off ebay. The same lights are burned out. I am either extremely unlucky or the problem lies in the power not getting to where it needs to go... I will be getting back in there with a multimeter soon.
Thoughts?

That happened on my wife's Chevy truck, the bulbs on heat/ac control head burned out. So I replaced the bulbs with leds. Which will last longer and are more durable then the filament of a incandescent bulb.

This sounds like a circuit board problem....those lights are probably LED's to begin with......hard to believe all those lights would go out at the same time.....that's why I think circuit board problem...

My wife's 2000 Chevy truck was not and also my 97 GP was not. So that is why I do not think that GM would use led's because they last longer. What a better way for GM to get more money out of people then to use incandesent bulbs which do not have a long life. :2cents:
