coil spring on power window regulator

I replaced the drive motor on my 2002 Ranger's driver's side window. When taking the regulator out, the coil spring came off. Now that it's all back together, when I lower the window, the coil spring becomes loose (loses tension) and falls off. I installed it with tension so I'm not sure what's going on or how I am supposed to install the coil spring so it doesn't come off.
A picture would help. Thanks!

Figured it out!
With the driver's side window up, the coil spring has to be installed with the outside end pointing up. The tab that the spring latches onto is located on the other side of the center of the coil spring. The outside end of the coil spring is brought around toward the tab. This tightens the coil spring. I had my left arm thru the open space in the door. I removed the door speaker so that I could get my right hand on the spring to wind it and get the coil spring outer end to the tab. Strong spring!!

When the coil spring is properly positioned, it is tightened even more when the window is lowered. When the window is raised, the spring helps the motor push the window up.
