Where to get convincing scale pulleys?

Hello everyone! I am sorry if this topic has been covered repeatedly, I could not find a good answer in my forum browsing and searching... I have just recently started modeling again, I did some as a kid and didnt know about all the cool parts and upgrades you can get. Now I am back into the hobby and wanting to do some major detailing. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get some convincing scale pulleys. I am working on both a 71 cuda and a 68 charger and would like to put pulleys on them but I cant find a good place to get them, any ideas? What do you guys use and what are the best pulleys? Also a good guide on how to mount said pulleys when I get them and maybe some general engine detailing references would be nice too. I am a truck driver and have limited room to work so nothing complex please..:iceslolan

:wink: Him a former truck driver myself , but far as pullys goes, you did not say what scale you are doing , if 1:25 scale, heres what i do, i go too e bay and buy a complete engine for parts, then i take my x-acto knive and separete the pullys from engine, then i break em down futher , till have three pulls for my chevy engine, then i take double side sticky tape en and place on type of stryfoam block and tape down, now the fun begins, i then put on my mangifer headband and get my jewerly files out and file a grove in each one the bottom pully kinda tricky with three gooves, for bottom pullys ,then i take and paint em gloss black,and just glue back on engine i'm gonna use it on, then i take black sewing thread for the belts, my current project is underway , for my 33-34 ford roadster ragtop, took the 350 chev out and put it on e bay for sell and replacing it with 21 stud flathead with a chrome blower, more orginal looking too me, all bought off e bay, well thats just me ,as how i do modeling and like you i started as a kid , and now 50 some years latter ,just getting back into it, Everett.:wink:

IF I FEEL LIKE IT (most times I don't) I like to get, as everett said, extra belts/pullies and eliminate the pully faces and just leave the belts, then I get the extra belts and eliminate the belts and save the pullys. This is easy when you have 3 of the same kits, but when you have that one kit that ONLY came out in 1986, you have to be resourceful. In such cases, I will "quick cast" a spare belt setup by making a mold with silicone from the local car parts store, and making the spare part with epoxy. It works well. This way you can save your original belts and mess up as many "resin" parts as you want to get things right.
