Car alarm

Right after I got my 2001 Regal, the car alarm went off seemingly at random. I put it into valet mode and left it that way. All was fine until a week ago, when it suddenly went into auto-arm mode. I can't remember how I got into valet mode earlier, and searching through the owners manual and this forum didn't give me a clue. Can anybody help?
I seem to remember one car I had that had a push-button switch under the dash, but I can't find anything like that on this one.

Oops! Just took one last look and found a little black button partialy hidden under the insulation panel. Turned on the key, pushed the button until the LED on the A pillar came on, and now all's well again.
