Ok, I am thinking I need to buy some rain tire rims. I guess the cheapest rim will work in 18x11 and 18x12 F/R
I saw a few choices in the mags:
OZ alleggerita HLT for $405/440
CCW 3-piece like I have are $450 each
Also, I still have not bought a data system. I need to. A pro race coach down here told me to get race-keeper its the best in his opinion of the lower dollar systems. I have been reading about a droid based system for $9 :naughty:

Anyone ever use it?

For a less expensive option, look at the new racechrono system. Its a pretty good system and all self contained display and sensor unit.
A good friend of mine helped develop the system.
Check out www.mh-motorsports.com for more info. I may even be able to get you a little extra discount.

Brian:
there was a post that I did not too long ago, where you "slammed" me for using an iPad app for a quick measure on driveline angle - so, now, it's my turn.
you make good money, you have a good bit of cash into your tow rig, your race car and a palace in Maine -- spend the money on a real data system coz a Droid App just is not going to cut it.....
:grinno:

Agreed....I just keep finding better things on the race car to spend the money on. Plus it seems like new technology keeps coming out on the data acq. front and i just keep holding off. I am doing the same thing with a digital camera/camcorder (waiting for an all in one that does it all).
I was just thinking for $9 bucks and a car mount how bad could it be.....
plus serves you right for using an APPLE product....Steve J. can shove it...lol
The bigger question is can I rig the droid into my helmet harness :evillol:
just think of the potential....when we have red flags, sitting on the grid, etc...we can be playing with our apps :screwy:

WAY too big for me...
Been thinking the panasonic ZS7
http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/shop/Cameras-Camcorders/Digital-Cameras/Lumix-Digital-Cameras/model.DMC-ZS7K_11002_7000000000000005702
Or the Nikon S8000 or S6000
http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product/Compact-Digital-Cameras/26191/COOLPIX-S8000.html
Good camera with great zoom and HD video with zooming while recording video. Up until now I only bought Canon cameras but these others are better fits right now I think.
I always stall on buying electronics...they improve to fast :-)

In that case check out the "Micro Four Thirds" stuff.
The glass is much more important than the electronics. However, sensors that are too small will degrade the optics - regardless of what they rate the megapixels. 12MP on a full frame camera is not the same as 12MP on a point and shoot.
The micro four thirds platform is trying to strike a balance between a smaller sensor (smaller than standard crop sensor) and a point and shoot sensor. They are trying to match smaller size with high quality.
The Olympus Pen might be something to check out. Interchangeable lenses on a point and shoot type body. The glass on these should be pretty good.

I forgot about Olympus...thanks...
I think this is more in the class I have been looking for:
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1530&page=specs
But I still think the Pana and Nikon outperform the Olympus player....
Spec needed: Point and shoot, HD video that I can zoom while videoing, about 8 ozs or less, small enough for a pocket, big glass for improved optics, etc.....
Just found this one....HUGE zoom...seems good....
http://www.samsung.com/us/photography/digital-cameras/EC-HZ35WZBPBUS
Just too many choices and not enough knowledge....ughhhhh

All of the cameras I have looked at above are 1/2.3 sensors....must need a larger physical case for the bigger sensors.
