85 Toro Brake problem

Car has 4 wheel disc brakes. When you start it up the pedal goes all the way down. After a pump or two it comes up most of the way. Then it seems okay until the next day, then repeats. Master cylinder is my suspect. The master is full and inspecting the calipers I saw nothing obvious nor any leaks. Front calipers are cheap but the rears are quite pricey. Brake light in dash does not come on. Any suggestions? :runaround:

I would suspect the master cyl as well, most likely it has an internal leak

Check the rear calipers for being frozen or out of adjustment, pumping the parking brake was one way to bring up the rear caliper setting.

The pads were all snug against the rotors when I inspected them. You start the car and the pedal goes all the way down and comes up after a pump or two. I told them not to use the park brake.

Most rear calipers that I know of require regular use of the parking brake to maintain proper adjustment.
