you might as well get a used ctr ot itr tranny(which will cost way less) if you plan on buying a brand new si tranny.

which one would you suggest? Civic or Integra. Do you know how much used it would cost for the c and i.

both are good tranny's, they would probably run for $1,000-$1,200. i would probaby go with the ctr tranny cause it has closer gear ratios.

Can I get a final drive on the civic tranny? Do you know where would be a good place to get one?And what exactly is " closer gear ratios"

yes you can put on the final drive on a civic type r tranny. a good place to look would be www.inlinefour.com or ebay. also closer ratios means that the gears a spaced closer together giving you better acceleration.

But to get the final drive does that mean that I have to get a civic type R tranny? I mean like the GSr you can get a final drive and it doesn't have to be a type R. So about the close gear...Is a civic non type R tranny better then a GSR tranny? An does it matter on the year of the tranny I mean do I have to get it for the year of my engine?

At IL4 they have a 98or 99 spec Gsr tranny for about $875 I think? Is that a good deal, But I dont know how many miles are on there? One more question Is it worth to get a different tranny other then the civic. The reason I was looking for a different tranny was because I want final drive. Is it really worth it? And what dose it really do. Does it really help? Why?

you don't have to get a ctr tranny all you need is a b series tranny(i think) if you want shorter gearing go with a integra type r, civic type r or b16a tranny if you want tolonger gearing go with a gsr, or ls tranny.
maybe someone can explain this better than me.

So all b series type R tranny have shorter gears. What about the year?does it have to be the year of my engine? and is paying $875 for a Gsr tranny worth it? What do think is better short or long gearing? Yes you explained if fine, thanks.

the tranny doesn't have to be the same year as you engine, just make sure that if your car has a cable tranny you get a cable tranny and if it hydraulic then you get a hydraulic tranny. basically if your car is 1994 and up its probably a hydraulic tranny. $875 is an o.k deal, if it has lsd then its a good buy.
