RAYBRIG -05 Error in the manual?

I'm in the process of building a Raybrig -05 (Tamiya 24286) and have discovered what I suspect is an error in the manual: I'm suspecting that the black part in the bottom of the first pic. is too long?

I have surfed the net for authentic pics, but have only found one that displays this part. (see pic no. 2, red car)

However I have noticed that some builders cuts off/shortens this part, which do you think is better?

Hi

You forget the side skirt under the kit, than it will be fit.
You see it in your own pic, the black part under the door.

I have added the part you mentioned, and as you can see that part isn't as long as the black part. That's why I don't understand why the black part doesn't match the fender side. I still think it is too long, or am I wrong?

The reference pic you're using looks like it's from the 2007 season.

The kit looks to be somewhat correct since it's connecting with the fender well area(see below pic). How does it look with the undertray and fender well portions in place?

Ok, my mistake,,, but take a look at this picture. ,,i´m still confused,, One more thing: in my model i am going to paint the blue area under and right of the dekal:"Racing on", black!
What do you think about that?

Doh! I just realized you're building the Raybrig car, not the ARTA/Autobacs one. They're quite similar but different teams sometimes used different configurations at a given time.

Here's the a pic of the Raybrig one. It's not the biggest or clearest picture, but you can at least notice the extended lip that you're asking about.

BTW, if you're looking for additional reference pics you can search for the Round 5 Twin Ring Motegi race- the Raybrig NSX won the race- that Tamiya supposedly modeled/referenced the car after.
