99 taurus trany fluid disappearing

i have a 99 taurus wagon with about 160000 kilometers on it...every week a have to add about a liter of atf...it is not leaking however i can smell it burning...is it possible its getting sucked through the intake somehow...any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks

Check the coolant for signs of ATF, which would indicate a bad radiator.

When you say it's not leaking, do you really mean it's not leaving a puddle under the car? If you can smell it burning, then it's leaking. Are you sure you smell ATF burning rather than oil or some other fluid?
