Hi all
This one I actually finished a couple of months ago but being very busy and having to make several work-related trips I only just got to taking pictures of it.
Fujimi kit with a couple of modifications here and there: I replaced the molded-in mesh in the rear grille, used a CM metal stickers for the emblems and for the third brake light, modified the intake plenums (need to be rounded off) and added the usual clear turn signals and that sensor in the left hand side mirror. I also went to town with the brake caliper attachment modification but that turned out to be rather pointless, really. Did not remove the heater lines from the rear window (tried once, ended up with a cracked window so decided to leave the spare one as is). Had some trouble with the stripes decals (really brittle, had to use the decals from three kits in the end!), other than that - an utterly enjoyable kit to build.
It's red, I know, but in my defense, a) this is actually my first completed red Ferrari and b) it's not Rosso Corsa :)
The paint is Rosso Scuderia from Glasurit with PPG clear. The interior is basically all black - just how I like it.
Anyhow, here are the pictures of the finished model with a couple of pics taken during the build.

Thanks!
I also really like the Scuderia, and I absolutely love how angry it looks from the front.

So so clean!
It seems the colour that most new Ferrari's come in now is Rosso Scuderia as opposed to Rosso Corsa which is a bit darker.

Nice job. Is the ride height like that straight out the box? I have a few of these waiting to be built. Also, I don't know if it's just because of the flash used in the pictures, but maybe adding some wash to the panel lines would help. Just my :2cents:

Nice work on the Scuderia. Makes me regretted of getting "plain" 430. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Ferrari/Fujimi to release some sort of Scuderia"ish" 458.

Thanks for the comments, guys.
Kev, the ride height is indeed out of the box, and as for the panel lines - I did a wash before the last coat of primer and in real life it looks quite good. Unfortunately the flash, as you say, hides that somewhat and I didn't have enough time to play with my friend's camera settings in order to get some good pictures without the flash. You can see the effect in the shot from the front - on the sides of the front bumper and of the front hood you can see the panel lines are darker and more pronounced whereas in the middle they are hidden by the flash.
Rosso Scuderia is indeed brighter and more ... orange, perhaps, than Rosso Corsa, and it seemed like an obvious choice considering the name of the car and all :)
Also no need to be disappointed because you have a regular F430 kit - it's a good kit as well (the 430 Scuderia kit is a little better though) and there's no reason not to have both of them ;)

Sweet build, Alex. Very clean! :bigthumb:
You haven't got a Scuderia kit you want to trade have you? Been looking for a cheap one on and off for a year now in my LHSs but no luck. You mentioned "three kits" in your post.... :D:D :evillol:

wow nice build. i like it very much.
I too think the flash took away the color and details. try not using the flash and setting it to micro. with good lighting you wont need flash. setting the white balance will help a lot as well.

Thanks.
I have to say that I'm not very good at taking pictures (I could blame cameras but probably it's just something that I am simply not good at) but once I finish my next build I'll try to spend a little more time with camera settings so that I end up with decent pictures without a flash.

This is awesome, inspires me to finish my F430 which has black mirrors also, :) but there is nothing wrong with a red ferrari... Seeing yours makes me dislike mine because unlike you I did not replace the rear mesh which now I will feel like it is toyish but unfortunatly I am at a stage too far to change that. Anyhow yours looks great

,,, regular F430 kit - it's a good kit as well (the 430 Scuderia kit is a little better though)
Are you referring to Fujimi-kits in both cases? What is the differens?
Asking because iīm planing to build one myself,,
Almost forgot; what scale is your kit ?
ps. donīt apologize for the choise of color,itīs nice and most of all :
Your job, your decision !!

I know what you mean - the picture from the rear taken with the flash really shows how annoying the lower grilles on and around the diffuser look. And if you still decide to open up that rear grille then you'll have to cut out the sections of the body behind it as well. If I'm honest I'd still try to do that :)
Oh, and the mirrors are painted metallic grey to look like they're CF... the effect is not so obvious with the flash but in real life you notice the sheen more than the pattern so I'm happy with that.
Edit: since you're talking about an F430 then yeah, it may be too late to change anything at some point.

Cheers! The kit is 1/24 scale.
As for the differences - it's just the small things. Compared to the initial F430 release, for example, the Scuderia kit has open meshes for most of the openings in the body which is quite important (fixed in the Spider and in the Challenge kits, though, or can be fixed with a detail set). Also since the brake discs and calipers are separate it makes them a little easier to paint in case of the Scuderia. the headlights, on the other hand, are a little better in the F430 kits. In reality, though, both are very enjoyable kits but if I had to choose just one I'd go for the Scuderia because I like the car better too.
Thanks!
