looking at engine swap from 99-2001 4.0sohc

Will these two engines interchange ok? Both are from two wheel drive trucks, but the 2001 engine is from a ranger pick up.Is the power the same?Our 99 engine went to pumping coolant into #5 cylinder.Found what looks like a tiny pin hole by the valve seat in head.Have a chance to buy a 2001 engine with 67,000 miles for $400.00.Also just when did Ford up-grade those tenisoners for the timming chains?From what I'm reading here they are still going bad in later model's, and these heads arent holding up very long either....Our 99 never showed hot on gauge, yet it must have to ruin that head.Wounder if all these explorer's that show over 200k have had heads and tenisoners replaced to go so far...Thanks for any information on these two engines.
