Novitec Rosso Ferrari 599 GTB-in black!

While I will not go to the lengths Ertau and Ramon went on theirs, their builds have thoroughly inspired me, and I will use some of their input for my own build. I generally spend very little time on interiors or internals, because a)you won't see most of it unless you go to great lengths to expose them, and b)I don't have the time. I will however make some effort to improve the interior on this one, based mostly on Ertau's experience with his white car, which is truly, truly outstanding! I do not have enough superlatives for his Novitec Rosso and Ramon's Hamann. So here's my goal, these are taken from Novitec's own website, and these are options available on the real car:

As you can see, the stock rims are still available on the NR car, and I will be using those, as I don't have the HD rims, and I'm not about to raid my Enzo kit for the likeness of the NR rims. I will put my own twist on them, since they're covered in chrome in the kit. This leaves just the front and rear splitters to be fabricated. And as Ertau proved, quite easy to achieve.
This is literally the body in white, from the R/M boxing.

Not much done but the bulk assembly work. The engine and underpinnings won't even be seen. The interior will get a little upgrade, but not much.

Tough crowd...tough crowd....
Anyway, I got the interior pretty much done, I'm just going to do a little sprucing up of the dash.

Front splitter, just some .015 plastic card, cut and sanded to shape, then I bent the front up basically, and that's your lot.

And after the first wet coat of flat black.

It should look good when done.
Are you sure you want to use the stock pentagram wheels, though?

Yes. As I sated in the first post, those screenshots are taken directly from the Novitec Rosso website. I also stated my reasons for using the stock rims.
On another note, I don't understand Revell's thinking on how this car goes together. It defies all logic.

Fair enough, just making sure you're sure of your decision (matter of personal taste - I don't like the pentagram wheels but it's obviously your model).
The Revell kit isn't bad bad, it's workable so I'm sure you'll reinvent the logic :) I really don't like their headlights, though, but at the end of the day it's not the most visible part of the model.

Oh believe me, I wanted to use the Novitec wheels, but just don't have the time or money. When I saw they still do it with the stocks, I said why not? The pic doesn't show it well, but I repainted the wheels silver. I primed them, then used TS-76 over them. Tones down the cheesy chrome.

I might have an extra set of Enzo wheels sitting around. If you are interested PM me and we can go from there.
This kit is on my to-do list. So I'll be watching :)

That's why I'm not even going to endeavor to fill them! Besides, aircraft are what I do best anyway. But entau's car definitely inspired me to do this one. Thanks dude!

Hmm, I may take you up on it for another build. This one is already set up for the stock wheels.

Do you plan on painting the engine? Should look good in black, i do agree with others different wheels would look better. Not a big fan of those wheels.

Nope, the hood is already glued shut. So no engine will be shown. It's too late for the wheels, they're installed. I'm rubbing out the paint on the body now.

Its interesting that you chose to glue the hood down. But it will still turn out great though, engine or not.

I almost never do engines. I do on the mid engined cars that have them exposed, but generally not on anything with a hood. Takes up too much time.
