can some one advise of best procedure. Also should the tensioner be replaced? vehicle
has 72,000 miles on it

What motor?
If its the 3100, you use a 3/8 ratchet or breaker bar, insert just the end of it into the tensioner and remve enough tension to slip the belt off. Then place the new one back on in the reverse order. The tensioner should be fine to re-use unless it has issues.
on the 3.4DOHC motor I can't help.

The 3.4 DOHC is the same proceedure. It's about the only part easy to change on that motor Tim...:lol:
