revell honda civic Si [k-series][bys][MUGEN][ASR][BEAKS*]

hey everyone-----here i have a revell honda civic si kit. I built it a few years ago. But i got inspired to do a honda build so i took it out of storage and started tearing it apart to get a new image. I have been working on it for less than a month now, but i havent had a chance to post this up on "W.I.P" . ITS almost done.


here is a break down of the mods i made to the car before :

-exterior-
*revell integra front lip
*revell carbon fiber hood (decal)

-interior-
*cut out rear seats
*put racing seats in front (revell toyota supra or eclipse)
*steering wheel from jdm honda integra kit

-suspension-
*made skunk2 lower control arms
*used stut bars for engine compartment and rear trunk bar

-engine-
*ITB's from datsun 510 model

*front bumper will be a "BACKYARD SPECIAL" FRONT BUMPER
*also adding ARC Magic splitters to the bottom of the bys bumper
*license plate relocator on front bumper
*APR mirrors (small racing mirrors)
*mugen rear valences (rear bumper 2 piece lip)
*mugen ferio wing
*rear fog light
*rear window visor

-interior-
*carpet added thanks to fuzzi fur (kens custom)
*type r door panel inserts
*k-pro ecu on the floor with harness
*vtec controller in center console

*different racing seats

*asr subframe
*beaks tie bar

-engine-
*k-series
*oil catch can w/2 filters
*vented valve cover w/ stainless steel hoses directed to oil catch can
*spark plug cover added
*I.P.S intake manifold w/ fuel rail and fuel regulater (fuel lines as well)
*hytech headers
*hasport mounts
*trans cooler w/ lines
*passwordjdm triangular strut bar ( idea from WILLIMO )

-- here i have in the works the front bys bumper-ecu-beaks bar-asr plate-passwordjdm triangular strut bar........i used the square tube styrene for the beaks bar.......the rectangle tube styrene for the passwordjdm strut bar...... and styrene sheet 0.30 to make the asr plate ,ecu, and on the front bumper...... i used tenax-7R plastic welder to make sure all parts are bonded.

--- k-series engine with the I.P.S intake manifold -
*made from stock manifold from kit
*cut the tab where intake pipe would go and shaved it up
*got a carb from a V8 to mae the throttle body placing it under the manifold
*added fuel rail - made with the square tube styrene

--- engine bay being worked on. where the intake box goes and the cruise control goes, i cut them and filled up that area with styrene sheets .Also shaved down some of the "radiator support" the kit had.
*oil catch can , more box, located where battery originally was,made with styrene sheet

*left the same exhuast system, just made the missing piece between the headers and the rest of the piping
*changed the muffler tip, used a tip from the tamiya supra kit

*intake pipe placed to throttle body- heated up the end of the plastic ,then squashed it against a pair of pliers to give it that dome shape, then hollowed tip

i want to carbon kevlar :
-the lower front lip of the bumper
-the air bag, passwordjdm air bag delete tray
-backside of the racing seats
-spark plug cover
-passwordjdm cooling plate (the radiator support area over grille)
-mirrors
-MAYBE HOOD idk yet.....
-make a radio block off plate and wrap that

once i add the kevlar thats needed , i can place the window back on, headlight,taillights, body to chassis, mirrors ,v-stack, radiator.....and it should be done 100%.....................................

Crappy camera or not its still great to see the progress on the car and the fact that you are describing the whole process. Can't wait to see this finished.

^yes thank you.....some people have great cameras but put no info, some things they make are great and others would like to know how they made that.....pictures are worth a million words, but worth more with written info.............

^hello, and thank you for your positive comment...... ill post more progress tomorrow...bought some carbon kevlar decal.....its 97% done now

...yesterday went to the hobby shop and picked up SCALEMOTORSPORT COMBOSITE DECAL (CARBON KEVLAR)...FIRST TIME EVER USING THIS PRODUCT. Also recommended was SOLVASET setting solution to soften decals for better fittment.First time using that as well.Experience with this was fun, once you understand the concept its easy.

-- here is the hood..... did it with one piece,using the solvaset ,only 1 wrinkle in the middle front tip of hood.....after decal set and dried up, i sprayed it with TESTORS ONE COAT LAQUER ......this picture is without flash on camera

^yea, idk i tried in different rooms for lighting, even took out a big spot light i got, no flash, and still not getting better quality....... its just a small digital cam, so i wouldnt expect much from it....thanks for the thought thou...... i have to get one of those expensive cameras to get the details...
