Brake short

I have a 2002 Ford Focus that every three months for the past years has blown #42 fuse to the brake lights. I have had it in to three mechanics one found a short in the trunk lock (electric) and fixed it for a while. now it is shorting again after I opened my trunk the other day and I can't shift out of park and no brakelights also now remote door locks don't work.Any ideas?
