I am trying to bleed the air out of the power steering in a 2000 Grand Am by turning the wheels lock to lock several times. I was wondering, does this need to be done with the engine off? Or can it be done with it running? I dont have a floor jack to lift up the front end and it will be one hell of a workout trying to turn the wheel with the engine off and the wheels on the ground.

just keep turning it right to left and it will come out eventualy. no do it with it running.

Yes, but do I need to do this with the engine on or off? Or does it matter?
