My back blower is still working, my front blower, at first started going out, it work make a humming sound and sometimes BARELY blow out air. Then just completely stopped. My husband purchased this part here http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Blower-Motor-Resistor/_/N-91tag (http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Blower-Motor-Resistor/_/N-91tag)
and in stalled it. Its still barely blowing out. We are not sure if may be its a bard part, or what to do next, any suggestions?

What is year of vehicle? Your saying different blower speeds don't work?

did you ever think it would be the actual blower motor? did you ever check to see if you are getting 12v at the blower motor with it on high?

my back blower works perfectly fine, my front blower would come on sometimes and make a humming sound, on any setting, then it stopped coming on totally ( in the front ) . So i did some research online and a lot of people had a problem with it being the blower motor resistor, so we got one at auto zone for $14.00 and installed it. It now blows, but barely, sometimes it will kick in and blow strong other times it wont work at all or barely blow. All the while the back is working perfectly fine. This is a year 2006 btw.

4 parts in the system and usual fail modes:
Blower motor relay - Located in the IPM (fuse box). This will usually keep the blower motor from turning on at any speed either permanently or intermittently.
Blower motor resistor - Located behind the glove box. The blower will run on high speed only or one or more speeds will be inoperable.
HVAC control panel - Located in center console. One or more blower speeds will be inoperable or blower will not run at all or run intermittently.
Front blower motor - Located behind glove box. Blower will run intermettently or not at all. Blower can make varying noises either either from internal fault or from something stuck in the blower cage vanes. I would lean towards the blower motor as the culprit.
As previously stated, to troubleshoot you will have to use a test lamp or meter to determine the problem. Guessing can be more costly that letting a shop fix it.

and frustrating.
the fault of the resistor is NO operation at all or only high speed (in high, the resistor is bypassed and full 12v goes to the blower) the resistor often fails when the blower is failing. see when a motor starts to fail, it can short and cause high current flow which will overload the resistor which causes the resistor to fail. so what if your rear heater blows, it's totally independent of your front blower. (if you have one light burned out in your bathroom, it doens't have any affect on the light in your bedroom does it?
