I have a 1988 vette with a 350 tpi motor, The motor will spin over but will not start. I'm not getting any fire though the distributor out to the wire's. Now i have replaced the coil & the pickup coil, & the ignition module. But it still won't fire, I'm not getting any fuel to the rails eather, But i know it could be the pump. If i can get fire though the plugs then the fuel won't be a problem. The car wasn't running when i brought it.

The wires did look good, But what is the chance that the computer could be bad?

A 1988 with how many miles?
Maybe the ignition switch isn't providing the battery for the ignition module.

Not sure about the miles i'll have to check, I have a friend with the same year vette, And his car is doing the samething, He took it to the dealership and they said that they couldn't find the problem, The guy i bought my car from said that he drove it all of the time, And parked it for awhile (like a year) then it wouldn't start, and thats how i got it.

No i didn't replace the rotor button, Because the guy i bought it from said that it was new, But today i hooked into the computer to try and get a code, if any. And it should give you a code 12 to tell you that its scanning the computer, And it wouldn't give me a code 12, The book said if you don't get a code 12 you have to fix it first before it will run a scan. So how do i fix a code 12? Is it the computer? Because thats what its trying to run?:runaround:

Sorry, Guys not trying to talk about a old post, But i haven't been able to give a update, After looking at all of the wiring i found that it wouldn't fire because the guy i brought the car from, When he put the new battery in he hook the poss cable from the starter to the neg side of the battery & the neg cable to the poss side of the battery. After swaping them around i was getting spark to the # one plug. Now the fuel pump works, i got it to come on for a few seconds, The pump relay had some bad connections on the wires, & I also found the sinal wire going to the fuel pump wasn't getting any voltage. So i think i'll just put a toggle switch in and turn the pump on myself.:grinyes:
