What does the Block heater cord look like?

Hy Friends, Just replacing a block heater cord on my sons 2000 swift. I purchased one, to cold to change outside and it looks odd. I purchased it from canadian Tire. It seems like a regular block heater cord, but has a metal pod the size of a dime at the top of the connectors. Does this seem right?, and is that the block heater touching the block? You should try to consult some expert mechanic, I do have some solution in mind but since I am unaware of specifically the 2000 swift so I would just ask you to have the consultation with mechanic instead of giving you advice that may even prove to be wrong.
