Does the ABS module on a 2000 CRV need programed?

I live over 150 miles from the nearest Honda dealer, so when the ABS light came on I took it to a local independent repair shop. They diagnosed it as a bad ABS module. They said they can install it but not sure if it needs programed, which they can't do. I got a used, tested and guaranteed module off Ebay for less than a hundred dollars. Does this ABS module need programed or not? 2000 Honda CRV.
